This is a complete journey along the whole 46 miles of it. My dad dropped me off here and I cycled home to Anston and then cycled from Anston to Chesterfield the next weekend. There are a few photographs I took a certain spots in the winter that I have added for effect, to show the changing seasons. There are about 600 photographs in total so it is going to take me a while to show each of these photographs.
You can find all the information you require on the canal here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chesterfield_Canal
If you have £40 million to spare, please contact the Chesterfield canal trust they would welcome your donation. However donations of £10 would be appreciated. www.chesterfield-canal-trust.org.uk
The canal requires some drastic work to complete between Kiveton and Staveley, you can find out more about this on the trust web site above.
I am going to add each photograph into flicker as I go along and you can see the complete journey here as it unfolds.
The Chesterfield canal starts at the River Trent with a lock, its beautiful walking along here in the summer or sitting along the banks of the River Trent. If you move a little further along from here, its a perfect spot to paint or draw the church on the other side of the river.
All the best
