The Parish Oven was the place to be on a Friday night in the 1980’s, they were one of the first pubs to start doing basket meals in the area. Up until recently the pub had a really great Landlord and Landlady (nine years) and did excellent Sunday lunches or you could go in for a A la carte meal. I liked the live singer on a Saturday night and a few pints. The pub looks modern on the outside, but is very traditional on the inside.
A new land lord and landlady took the pub over in the last 12 months and things quickly went down hill and the Parish Oven is now closed. I hope the Parish Oven opens very quickly and doesn’t become another housing estate.
I was talking to a couple who live across the road and they were hoping the pub would re open in time for Christmas lunches.
All the best
