Entrance gate to Roche abbey photography

This was the main entrance to Roche abbey and where they used to give out food to the poor.  At one bit it used to be a two story high structure.  Roche abbey is well worth a visit if you have never been before.

The site is closed now until next spring, but you can walk around it still and see its magnificience.

  1. What a powerful look and visual “feel” to this structure! I’d love to sit inside and just look – at everything – for at least a month without moving. Your photo made me feel as if I was surrounded by an incredibly powerful, multidimensional, and solid representation of God – and that was just from your photo! Thank you. You’re making me feel more and more like I should just move to England! All the best to all of you in England from us appreciators of fine art and architecture in the USA. Thank you again, Tim!
